Ken Bingham,
Managing Partner & Co-Founder
Born and bred in Oxford (UK), Ken has 16 years of financial market experience covering multiple asset classes. He began his financial career in the mid-2000s, sales trading and voice broking on the trading floors of London (UK) and Geneva (Switzerland). Here he worked across fixed income, commodities and precious/base metals as well as trading and executing orders on all major futures exchanges.
Upon arriving in Australia in 2015 with his family, Ken worked at ME Bank (owned by Australian Superannuation Funds), where he was responsible for raising and managing funds for the bank’s on-balance sheet, heading up the institutional channel. Before co-founding IDP with Shannon in 2020, he worked in business development at The Principals Funds Management who provide distribution for fund manager strategies directly with the institutional market in Australia and New Zealand, covering equities, alternatives and real estate.
Prior to the financial world, Ken was (is still) a keen sportsman and was fortunate enough to play rugby for the Barbarian Rugby Football Club and represent England Counties. He has also played UK County First Class cricket for Kent Cricket Board. He currently now enjoys golf, cycling and ski-mountaineering (completing the skiing Haute Route).
Shannon Leake,
Managing Partner & Co-Founder
Since 2013 and prior to co-founding IDP with Ken, Shannon worked at The Principals Funds Management where she developed business for 7 partner owned, boutique, active fund managers in the Australian and NZ marketplace.
She has worked across multiple asset classes including listed equities, credit, real estate and alternatives. During her time at Principals, Shannon contributed to growing client managers’ FUM, from the region, from AUD $4bn to AUD $15bn.
Shannon is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia (FGIA) and a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). She holds a Masters of Human Resource Management, a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Communications and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance.
Shannon is currently a Board Member of the Adelaide University Business School International Centre of Financial Services. Previously Shannon was an Executive Director and Chair of the Community and Engagement Committee at Wantirna Community Bank.
Shannon and her husband Jonathan have four children, who together enjoy camping and hiking.
